A newly revitalized Ontario Place is back. A work in progress but great space to have back again. This new version is a green, gentle and peaceful space. Free to all to walk through and enjoy. And we did. Got to see many different views of the city that we hadn’t ever seen before. Definitely plan to go back. Hear that the Cinesphere is going to reopen as well! I saw my first ever IMAX movie there and loved every minute of it. Looking forward that reopening as well.
Recently I went to the DeSerres art store with ma petite sœur looking to buy some art supplies or even one of the adult colouring books that are so popular these days but found this!! A jigsaw puzzle with a shot of Positano, Italy. I gave a squeal of joy on recognizing this beautiful place. The 500 pieces are big, so it was easy to finish till I hit the buildings in the picture. 😦 It was going to be a long process. Luckily the petite sœur who is great with buildings came over for a visit, and soon she & I were looking for pieces based on the way the buildings line up or look in elevation. There might have been some perspective in there as well! 🙂 We had the pieces in place in no time. I am glad I didn’t finish the puzzle on my own. This way it was way more fun!! Grazie, petite sœur!
Doors Open is wonderful initiative by the City of Toronto that opens the doors to many buildings in the city normally not open to the public. Having visited a fair number of the beautiful buildings this city has to offer, I decided to join one their free walking tours instead. This one was called “Architectural Icons at Exhibition Place” lead by Tour Guide Richard Fiennes-Clinton. The walk was 90 minutes long, well organized, informative and nice. Some highlights along the way.
I love jigsaw puzzles but it has been a while since I worked on one. So March Break this year was the time to get into one again! A 1000 pieces of fun! The MOST frustrating part? The white pieces of the sky. Grrr.. Took me 4 days to finish with interruptions like laundry, food, grocery shopping… 🙂 The next one is getting opened..mwhahaha….
Couldn’t resist taking shot of the “Toronto” sign from behind! Lesser people to compete with as well! The “Toronto” sign is at City Hall has been a popular photo op since it was set up. There is now a maple leaf near it which has a red stripe covering the edges with the word “Love” in different languages. It also says “TO Canada with Love”. Aww.. And it has Toronto’s (un)official mascot – a raccoon!!
