This was one heck of an intense coloured rainbow. Unfortunately by the time I got my camera, this was it. There was a less intense and shorter rainbow just above this one! Phew, nature was showing off big time on this day.
Doors Open is wonderful initiative by the City of Toronto that opens the doors to many buildings in the city normally not open to the public. Having visited a fair number of the beautiful buildings this city has to offer, I decided to join one their free walking tours instead. This one was called “Architectural Icons at Exhibition Place” lead by Tour Guide Richard Fiennes-Clinton. The walk was 90 minutes long, well organized, informative and nice. Some highlights along the way.
Like a LOT of stuff our generation had never heard of growing up, climate change is now part of life. Hard to miss here in TO given how many really hot days we get in the summer now. Also the winters are not so frigid anymore. Even more worrisome when building developers want to build up on green spaces saying they are “under utilized”! News flash, we live in Canada and most of the time it is too cold – nowadays more rainy and soggy – to use the green spaces. Does not mean we need more heat radiating buildings on them! Ah, for leaders and civic authorities with long term vision.
I love jigsaw puzzles but it has been a while since I worked on one. So March Break this year was the time to get into one again! A 1000 pieces of fun! The MOST frustrating part? The white pieces of the sky. Grrr.. Took me 4 days to finish with interruptions like laundry, food, grocery shopping… 🙂 The next one is getting opened..mwhahaha….
Couldn’t resist taking shot of the “Toronto” sign from behind! Lesser people to compete with as well! The “Toronto” sign is at City Hall has been a popular photo op since it was set up. There is now a maple leaf near it which has a red stripe covering the edges with the word “Love” in different languages. It also says “TO Canada with Love”. Aww.. And it has Toronto’s (un)official mascot – a raccoon!!
