This was one heck of an intense coloured rainbow. Unfortunately by the time I got my camera, this was it. There was a less intense and shorter rainbow just above this one! Phew, nature was showing off big time on this day.
Doors Open is wonderful initiative by the City of Toronto that opens the doors to many buildings in the city normally not open to the public. Having visited a fair number of the beautiful buildings this city has to offer, I decided to join one their free walking tours instead. This one was called “Architectural Icons at Exhibition Place” lead by Tour Guide Richard Fiennes-Clinton. The walk was 90 minutes long, well organized, informative and nice. Some highlights along the way.
It’s that time of the year when High Park is blessed with the lovely Cherry Blossom blooms. It is a busy time for this relatively peaceful hood for a weekend or a day depending on Mother Nature’s mood. This time it looks like a weekend and a couple of days next week. I try and go to High Park as part of this annual visit but it’s getting noticeably more and more crowded every year. Phew! The crowds really got my attention this year, and of course so did the lovely blooms!
It is heartwarming to see that something so ethereal, simple and beautiful can still catch our attention, even if for a short while.
Couldn’t resist taking shot of the “Toronto” sign from behind! Lesser people to compete with as well! The “Toronto” sign is at City Hall has been a popular photo op since it was set up. There is now a maple leaf near it which has a red stripe covering the edges with the word “Love” in different languages. It also says “TO Canada with Love”. Aww.. And it has Toronto’s (un)official mascot – a raccoon!!
